Hello everyone.
I am 23 years old and I live in Oslo.
My inspirations are book covers. I love a good and artistic cover design, especially the covers of children’s fantasy books and horror novels. My biggest inspirations are the many covers of J. R. R Tolkien’s work as well as some of the more artistic covers of Steven King’s novels. Another huge inspiration for me is American 2D animation, especially from the nineties. Disney especially is huge inspiration as they were always able to make the art in their films look unique. The three films that inspire me the most are Sleeping Beauty, The Lion King and Treasure Planet whose animation is very stylised and they use colours to communicate the mood and theme of each scene.
I have studied two years of theatre studies in Glasgow and half a year of theology in Oslo, but was forced to cut my theology short when I started having problems with my eyes. I therefor decided to go to what we in Norway call folkehøgskole. I spent the next two years doing drama. I knew I wanted to get back into studying this year, but was unsure which studies I would be able to complete. I realised that instead of just studying just for the sake of it I decided to look into gaining the skills of achieving my dream of becoming an author. I decided to study graphic design in order to learn how to design and create my own covers to the books I write. I also want to find out if I want to make a career out of this. I’ve also had a small dream of directing an animated feature, but I realise this dream is quite unattainable.
Aside from drawing, my other hobbies are as mentioned above writing. I also love to sing and play music as well as reading. I am currently focusing fully on my studies.
